Be Part of the Solution! - ECOS Community Workshops Planned for Burlington and Williston - Sept. 28 & 29

All residents of the region are urged to attend two upcoming public workshops that are designed to give citizens an opportunity to weigh in on the future of Burlington and Chittenden County. These workshops are being held in support of the Burlington Legacy Plan Update and the County-wide ECOS initiative, funded with a grant from the HUD Sustainable Communities Project.

The workshops are designed to have participants help articulate a vision for the future of the city and county that is inclusive and equitable, with a focus on the project themes. The themes include the built and natural environment, economy and employment, housing, transportation, energy, health and education.  Attendees will have an opportunity to provide their input through interviews, group conversations, and interactive mapping.  These workshops, and a follow up series of events will help set short and long-range goals and actions for the ECOS and Legacy plans. The success of these projects will be based, in part, on the input and guidance of the community, and thus all residents, business people and interested citizens are encouraged to participate. To leave feedback on the draft goals, go to the ECOS Project web page http://ecosproject.com , click on "Join the Conversation” then "Get Started" to leave comments for any or all of the goals, or add new ones. If you don't have access to a computer, computers are available at your local library.  Please note that comments on the ECOS draft goals will be accepted until September 30th.

Light fare will be provided with delicious local food and childcare will also be available.

The first workshop will be held on Wednesday, September 28th from 6:00 - 8:30pm at the Champlain Senior Center/McClure Multigenerational Center at 214 N. Winooski Ave. in Burlington.  The second workshop will be held on September 29th from 6:00 - 8:30pm  at the Williston Town Hall Meeting Room located at 7900 Williston Road in Williston.
