when we think about economic development we need to focus of developing from within our own state resources not going to out of state sources for funds with strings attached. We can earn the funds and we have enough bright people to create the solutions. The less we rely on national sources the more we will do things that violate our principles. We should also not sell community owned resources like the waterfront buildings we own. We desperately need a new Y in the city and they would preserve the waterfront for the community. They are also the biggest child care provider in the state. The same is true of Burlington telecom which would be a major asset to develop tech businesses.
